CONVENTIONAL FRESH PRODUCE TO FILL THE GAPS...
In response to requests by frustrated customers who want to do most of their shopping with us, we are trialling filling some gaps in fresh produce with conventional &/or home-grown. Examples are tomatoes & lemons. the conventional produce has all been clearly labelled in RED to identify them from their organic GREEN and unsprayed home-grown BROWN labels.
There have been a few raised eyebrows and a couple of frowns from some customers, but we seek patience and understanding. We are here to serve our customers and to help ease their shopping load and frustration. Hence City Organics have decided to tread the middle path and help our customers & our growth, by providing this limited range of conventional and making shopping lives easier.
Our commitment to and offering of fresh produce will remain as always primarily to our organic/biodynamic producers who are dedicated to the long-term sustainability of our earth & health.
Fair Trade Fortnight Chocolate cake prize!
Jenny Robertson won our draw for the Fair Trade Chocolate Cake. No doubt the scrumptious cake was enjoyed.
Every Cloud has a silver lining...
Unfortunately for us all Lizzie, who has been serving you with much gusto and cheer is off to a new job and new horizons and challenges with the Beacon Foundation. We know she will be missed.
They say every cloud has a silver lining. The silver lining in this scenario is the taking on of Lizzie's work by our truly lovely Michelle Dyer whom many of you will already be familiar with.
A bit from the Beacon web site:-
The Beacon Foundation is a National not-for-profit organisation, that seeks to influence the attitudes and culture of Australians so that each young person develops an independent will to achieve personal success for themselves and their community.
A key strategy of Beacon is to initiate original and innovative projects that demonstrate solutions to youth unemployment and encourage self-help at the local level.
The implementation of these innovative projects relies on the support of local communities and the business community at a local and national level. Businesses providing support to Beacon in terms of funding, services in kind and time fall into two categories http://www.beaconfoundation.net/
Another overdue and exciting change is the advent of the new Computer Point of Sale System (POSS) that many of you will have already been served with at City Organics.
New Point of Sale System (cash register) for the shop has gone in on from 26-27th May. As with all new systems they take time to bed down. So we ask you all for your kind patience while we all get up to speed with our "new bewt" system. We know we will be able to serve you better with this system by spending less time on ordering and more on what we love to do - Serving you!
A new member scheme will be implemented with a scan-able card - CO (City Organics) Card which will entitle you to member prices which you will see on the new price tickets in coming weeks. You can sign up for the new card by clicking here, we will make the card over the course of a week and have it waiting at the shop for you to collect. The discount scheme may take us some time to get into place as we have to upload tonnes of information and also learn the new til and basics first.
Price Increases
The cost of wheat rising due to the drought has forced Summer Kitchen and our local free range egg producer to increase their prices by 15 to 30 cents. Wheat and flour have themselves gone up in price. This will probably happen to other products too unfortunately. We will do our best to keep your groceries more affordable, but weather-driven conditions are out of our hands.
New products in at City Organics:
We have Organic Sunflower, Almond & Cashew Butters - no added sugar, Organic Mixed nuts and Organic Brazil nuts.
Also some new Organic Mueslies that taste good and are nourishing.
Our family are really getting the use out of the new Badger Balm range, Jacquie has had a sore neck and been using the Sore Muscle rub along with healing balm for hard working hands, our son has had the Winter Wonder Balm on his chest and I, Brett have been using the Sleep Balm for a more restful sleep. All of us have also been loving the lip balms tangerine breeze and chai rose.
Also must try some of the new varieties of the Middle Earth Pasta Sauces they are fantastic! Aubergine and the Grilled Courgette..yummmm. We use them alongside rissoles etc, as dipping sauces.
Goat's Milk
We have had numerous requests for Goats Milk in the past and have finally found a Tassie supplier. The milk will be pasteurized, as it is illegal to sell it otherwise but our supplier tells us that there is hope that the law maybe in the process of being c
hanged to allow goats milk to be unpasteurised. They have also told us that they pasteurise at the lowest temperature allowable that leaves alot of the "goodies" still in the milk. They also do not homogenise their milk, another plus point. Milk will come in on Friday and will last for 2-3 weeks. 1 litre plastic screw top containers are the size available. If you would like to order milk please contact us via email or at the shop 62311 465. First delivery 1st June. They also do goat cheeses and you will also find these on the shelf shortly alongside of our other delicious goat and sheep cheeses and yoghurts.
GOAT'S MILK SOAP - THE GENTLE ALTERNATIVE FOR YOUR SKIN.
Welcome to Billie Goat Soap.
We are a boutique soap company nestled in the Ourimbah valley on the Central Coast of New South Wales, Australia. Our soap is made from a combination of luxury oils and fresh goat's milk (not powdered), and is so gentle it is popular with people who have sensitive skin, eczema or psoriasis.
From the days of Cleopatra, milk has been used as a luxurious moisturiser. Goat's milk contains proteins, amino acids and Vitamin A to nourish the skin. Milk also contains lactic acid which helps to exfoliate, cleanse and soften the skin.Goat's milk has a pH level that is close to our own skin's pH, making it very gentle on even the most sensitive skin types. We suggest you try the Billie Goat Soap experience for yourself - simply make a selection from the range in City Organics.
Our beloved goats are milked daily to produce the milk that is the basis of every hand made bar of Billie Goat Soap. We pride ourselves on making soap that is hand crafted to the highest standard and skin loving.

Vets All Natural
Complete Pet Mix
HELP YOUR PETS LIVE A HEALTHIER LIFE WITH VETS ALL NATURAL, GREEN PET PRODUCTS & MORE AT C O ...
Dogs and cats are not designed or equipped to properly digest and absorb cooked food, as we humans are. They have been evolving on this planet for 40 million years (more than 2000 times the entire history of human evolution) eating fresh food. Their mouths, teeth, stomach, intestines, organs and enzymes, are all evolved to masticate, process, digest and absorb raw food (not cooked food).
There is a growing stockpile of scientific evidence that links the long term consumption of cooked commercial pet foods, to the development of a vast array of common illnesses and degenerative diseases, including cancer. Skin disease and dermatitis, allergies, teeth and gum disease, arthritis, renal failure, ear infections, obesity, reproductive failure, and anal gland blockage can all be linked to improper nutrition, and can all lead to poorer quality of life for both pet and owner.
Just one of the growing range of great 100% natural nutrition & pet care products now available at City Organics
Hepworth's
SUPPLIER PROFILE
HEPWORTHS MISO’S and BABY CEREALS
Gary Hepworth has had a long love affair with producing good quality food, making everything from vegetarian pies in the late 70’s to beautiful BFA certified organic misos and baby cereals in the 90’s and noughties. Gary’s misos are made in five different flavours (sweet rice, mellow rice, mellow chick pea, mellow barley and a traditional matured Japanese style barley miso) and can be found in our refrigerator, packed in 300g containers.
His certified organic baby cereals are made from whole grains (rice in “rice crème and rice“, oats and barley in “mixed grain“) soaked, steamed and roasted until golden, then ground between basalt stones until golden, made to order for freshness.
